"Long Island Surnames" was created as part of "Long Island Genealogy" to provide a home for Long Island linages; a place where they could be evaluated, corrected and shared without charge. It is our belief that history belongs to everyone and historical data should be available to all who seek it - without charge. Although we are a regional repository many Long Island branches extend beyond our shores and we follow them as far as interested people request.

Providing accurate information is our primary goal. We do our best to respond quickly to comments and submissions. Please feel free to let us know when you see something is missing or incorrect so we can correct it. We don't want to be just another spot on the web that replicates and spreads incorrect information. As with all genealogy our files are a work in progress. Although every effort has been made to ensure their accuracy there will be mistakes. Whenever possible please check the original source of any information.

Each "Tree" he is in will be listed in the far right column after his name. If you get a result listing the same individual 10 times that simply means we currently have him as a member of 10 separate "trees."
